About Lessons by Mina

I'm Mina, and I teach Turkish to English speakers and English to Turkish speakers, entirely online. I built an interactive course with native-speaker audio so you can learn the language properly at your own pace, then bring what you've practised to a real one-to-one lesson with me over video. It's just me running this, so every lesson, every note, and every check-in is mine. I work with people across Australia and beyond, on Australian hours.

What I teach

Two different things, for two different people. If you speak English and want Turkish, there's a course you work through yourself. If you speak Turkish or Farsi and want English, there are live lessons where I explain it in your language — which is the part almost nobody in Australia offers. AMEP and most tutors teach English in English, and that is exactly what defeats a nervous beginner.

Turkish Beginner course

Twelve modules, fifty-nine lessons, and 813 exercises that take you from nothing to holding a real conversation. You work through it in your own time, at your own pace.

English for Turkish and Farsi speakers

One-to-one English lessons where the explaining happens in your language. Ask the question in Turkish or Farsi, get the answer in Turkish or Farsi, then go back to English. Job interviews, IELTS and PTE, workplace English, and the confidence to speak. Online, A$60 an hour.

Native-speaker audio and spaced review

Every phrase in the course is recorded by a native speaker, so you're learning how Turkish or English actually sounds, not a textbook version of it. Spaced review brings words back just as you're about to forget them, so they stick.

One-to-one Turkish lessons online

Live video lessons for English speakers learning Turkish. This is where the course turns into a language you can actually use.

Monthly review session

Once a month we sit down together and go over what's working, what's not, and where to put your effort next. It keeps the course honest and keeps you moving.

Culture notes

Little bits of context an app would never think to teach you: what to say at the dinner table, what not to say to your mother-in-law, how people actually talk. It's the part that makes the language make sense.

Questions people ask

How does self-paced actually work?

You get the whole of Module 1 straight away and work through it in your own time. Lessons are 5 to 8 minutes, so a lesson fits in a lunch break.

What happens in a check-in?

Twenty minutes with me, once a month, on video. You talk, I listen and correct, and you leave with a plan for the next month. Bring your recording if you have one.

How long do I need each week?

Twenty to thirty minutes is enough to keep moving. The weekly mission is the part that matters — it is one thing to say to a real person.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — 14 days, no questions. If it is not what you hoped, email me and I will refund you.

Is this for complete beginners?

Yes. Module 1 starts at hello. If you already have some Turkish, book the trial chat and I will tell you honestly where to start.

Do I need a Turkish keyboard?

No. You can type Turkish letters when you want to, and I will show you how, but nothing in the course requires it.

Get in touch

The quickest way to reach me is to book a time — pick a slot that suits you and we'll talk then. A free 30-minute intro chat is a good place to start if you're not sure yet. Prefer to write first? Email me and I'll come back to you.
